AC Milan were denied a win by a stoppage time goal in the Derby della Madonnina by Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic in a thrilling 2-2 draw. The scoring was opened by former Liverpool player Suso on the eve of half time before Antonio Candreva got the first leveler ten minutes after the second half began. Suso bagged his second in the 58th minute and when it looked like AC Milan would hold out to go second in the Serie A table, Croatian Ivan Perisic equalized.
The result leaves AC Milan third below Juventus and Roma (Roma only on Goal Difference) whilst Inter Milan sit in ninth. Although the game was a draw, AC Milan still have the bragging rights as they are higher in the table and in better form, Inter Milan are in turmoil having sacked their manager, Frank de Boer in the international break and with new manager Stefano Poli hosting his first game in the most difficult of circumstances. A win on Sunday would have enforced the club however a loss would have questioned the decision by the board. So in the grand scheme of things a draw really isn’t that bad.
