Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle United

Last night saw a crazy match between Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United in which the home team won 2-1 and the away team had two players sent off. It all kicked off about 30 minutes into the game where Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey was sent off for violent conduct, Henri Lansbury on the end of a violent stamp from Shelvey. On the stroke of halftime, Matt Ritchie put Newcastle United ahead with a great first time finish from inside the box after two defensive errors from Forest. Two minutes later, Lansbury was in the action again after being pushed over by Paul Dummett in the penalty area. Dummett was shown the second red card of the game for denial of a goal scoring opportunity. However Lansbury saw his penalty saved by Karl Darlow at his former club.

Forrest had the initiative in the second half and on 52 minutes, Bendtner scored after a scrappy display from the Newcastle United defence. Finally after a lot of resilience from Newcastle United’s nine men, Jamaal Lascelles put his former club in the lead with an own goal which saw Newcastle United’s fans heartbroken and Nottingham Forest’s jubilant.

Final Score: Nottingham Forest 2, Newcastle United 1
